For fifteen years in the world of art publishing, the series Mirabilia Italiæ has revolutionised the traditional notion of the art book, creating a sort of “Atlas” of the principal Italian monuments. To celebrate its success, on Thursday 16 April at the Biblioteca Vallicelliana in Rome there was a lecture entitled The marvels of the national monuments: fifteen years of Mirabilia Italiæ. This event, attended by the Direttore dei Beni Culturali e Paesaggistici del Lazio Luciano Marchetti, focused on the publishing history of the series and provided an occasion for the presentation of the new edition of The Gallery of Maps in the Vatican, the first title in the series, and of the latest volume, The Scuola Grande di San Rocco in Venice.
